WOMEN'S WEEKEND SPRING RIDE
2022

This coming spring we will be hosting our annual spring ride at Togo Horse Campground.

When:

Join us June 10th-12th 2022

Location:

George Washington State Forest

About:

Togo Horse Camp is approximately 21.8 miles Northeast of Effie MN. on State HWY 1.

The campsites at Togo Horse Campground are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the camper's basic needs. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. Also, vault toilets, garbage dumpsters, and water are available.

Togo Horse campground offers pull-through campsites, picket lines at each campsite, manure bunkers, an accessible loading ramp, and a lot of open spaces. You can use portable corrals or electric fences as long as they do not encircle trees.

There are 19 miles of signed multi-use trails with more trails available to explore. Stony Brook Horse Campground is 13 miles away by trail.

Rates:

  • Equestrian campsites are $22 per night. No reservations required or available.

Rules are same as always but if this will be your first time with us, here's a recap~

Rules:

1. NO MEN!

2. NO MINORS!

3. ONE DOG PER RIG!

There will be fun and "rowdiness", there will be alcohol and food!  There will be no tolerance on 'drunken antics', this is not a "keger" but if you are wanting to get out and enjoy the trails with other horsewomen, have some fun, work on your horse or horsemanship skills than this is for you!  We are not here to train you or your horse but we are willing to help and support each other.  Riders must be able to walk, trot and lope on their horses as we do more than walk on our rides.  We "bushwack" when we can and like to have fun!

Potluck will be held Saturday night at the main fire pit.  All other meals you must provide for yourself.

If you have any questions please visit our Facebook page and message Rachel.

No coggins required

No covid shots required

Snaps from the weekend fun!

Lil Lucy standing at the tie line in her fly sheet.  This lil mare was ending her 90 day training program on this ride.

She passed with flying colors!  She not only lead the ride no issue, she also was an excellent mount for one of our riders needing to switch mounts during the ride.

We rode out the first day exploring the trails south east of camp,  Second day found us goofing off a lil more as more and more riders joined the fun!                                                                          Never fear tho- we always ride with the utmost safety!  We are "trained professionals"

On our ride out Friday we left our "treasures" for the next days "HUNT"

Riders could then download the Wikiloc App and follow our previous ride where we pinned our treasures to be found!

We made some easier than others....... and some more difficult!

Horse camp in Togo

We had amazing weather and very few bugs thanks to a "home- brew" spray.

The few visitors we got in camp were not to "rowdy" but were a shock to see.  Two yearling black bears hung out near camp and made a few visits during the night and while we were out on rides.

Rachel Anderson and Emajean Ford

We had a Great time riding the north woods!  From hiding our treasures and setting the hunt ride, to exploring "squach" shacks we found out in the boonies.

We ate too much, laughed a ton and made more memories with some great women.

We hope to see you on our next ride!
